QUITO BOTANICAL GARDEN

Quito Botanical Garden is home of more than 5,000 plants of about 500 species. The vast majority are native to our country.
Ecuador is one of the countries with the greatest plants diversity per area of ​​the planet; this is because in our small country have been classified 17.000 plants (more species than the entire European continent) which are about 30% calculated specimens of Ecuador. It means that in Ecuador can be found around 50,000 species of plants.
That's why Quito Botanical Garden makes every effort to preserve as many Ecuadorian species as possible. Today, in addition to the important task mentioned, it is focused on protecting, preserving, cultivating, inventory and display diverse native flora of Ecuador.
The Botanical Garden of Quito has an area of 18.200 square meters; is located in the southern sector of Parque La Carolina, north of the city, between Avenida De los Shyris and Amazonas. It offers to visitors different areas where the flora is divided into diverse climatic zones that the Ecuadorian highlands have, in addition to permanent exhibitions of plants with specific characteristics, and warmer region plants which are found in greenhouses.
These climatic zones are: the wetlands, the Cloud Forest and Moorland. There is a greenhouse where there are several plants of the Amazon region; there are themed gardens which exhibit roses, lilies of the valley, bromeliads, palms, important plants for their characteristics and use.

QUITO'S SKYRAIL - TELEFERICO
Quito’s Skyrail named in 2005 as the Teleférico, is the highest in South America. Starts at 2.950 m.a.s.l. and ends at 4.050 m.a.s.l. It reaches the top of Cruz Loma, adjacent to the Pichincha volcano
The moor of Pichincha volcano, at the top of Cruz Loma, offers a spectacular view of the whole city of Quito. If the weather is good can be seen some main elevations of the Andes mountain chain such as: Cayambe, Antisana, Cotopaxi, Pasochoa, Rumiñahui and the list goes on. Besides the beautiful view offered here is the Andean landscape, the cold wilderness with almost straight, flat road to the summit of Rucu Pichincha, Pichincha most visible elevation from Quito.

MINDO - ECUADOR
Mindo is a small town in the middle of the cloud forest at the northwest of the Canton San Miguel de Los Bancos.
19.200 protected hectares are surrounding Mindo making it one of the most bio diverse places on the planet besides being a very popular place for birdwatchers. It is just two hours from Quito by bus, a little less by car.

in Mindo, near the bus stop, you will find a Tourist Information Center, just diagonal to the central square. There tourist guides can tell you about different activities you can do in Mindo and surroundings; among which the main ones are: observation of birds, insects and butterflies, visit orchid farms, hiking, rafting, sailing (trip on float river below, pure emotion), Kanopi (crossing the top of one hill to another slide in a steel cable through a pulley, a unique experience),

QUITO ZOO
Quito Zoo is located in the valley of Guayllabamba, is the most diverse zoo of animals in Ecuador.
The zoo has several exhibitions in their self-guided trails. It has both amphibians such as reptiles, birds, mammals and other animals around the world. It also has specific attractions such as The Puddle of the Frogs, the section of Marsupials, Animal House Night, Trails Andean Forest and Dry Forest, a Children's Farm and Visitor Center
